Rituals and Beliefs
All societies have various beliefs and rituals associated with certain life events. These customs mark important periods in a person’s life such as birth, puberty, marriage and death. The Jarawas follow certain customs during the birth of a child, to celebrate the coming of age of boys and girls, marriages and death. Most of these customs involve dancing while wearing fresh flowers and the decorating their bodies using grey clay called ood.
